Can you remove the calendar page?

Before the update I could access "today" and "notifications" buy pulling down from the top? Now it's on the first page! I don't like this, you can see everything and it seems the only way to NOT see them is if I delete everything. Defeats the purpose of privacy. How can I get ride of this? Please help!!!
